Dr. Okhovat is the President of Family Medicine Associates of Northridge. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa, Magna Cum Laude and Pre-Medical Honor Society from The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences earning his B.S., M.D. degrees by 1991.
His residency was completed at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) in Northridge, California. Dr. Okhovat has served as a Diplomat of the American Board of Family Practice and the American Board of Hospice and Palliative Care. His membership is further recognized in the Society of Hospital Physicians.
Dr. Okhovat serves in a host of active roles throughout the medical industry. Currently, Dr. Okhovat is the Associate Medical Director for the Skirball Hospice Program, Assistant Clinical Professor at UCLA, Clinical Instructor at the Northridge Hospital Medical Center Family Practice Residency Program and Hospitalist with the Healthcare Partners IPA in Northridge, CA.He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and Founder of the OMNI Society.
Dr. Okhovat is an Executive Board Member with the Northridge Hospital Medical Center and Chairman of Interdisciplinary Committee and Bioethics Committee Member. Additionally, he is a Board Member with the Advisory Board of Healthcare Partners Medical Group. Dr. Okhovat has served as an expert witness in personal injury and medical malpractice cases for several attorneys.
Dr. Eddy-Bertrand graduated the Loma Linda University School of Medicine in 1993. Her Internship and Residency were completed at UCLA’s Northridge Family Practice Residency in Northridge, California.
She has been a part of Northridge Hospital Medical Center since 1993 and is their Masterhead Physician.“I have been at Northridge Hospital Medical Center for 17 years and even completed my Family Medicine Residency here. Guess you can say I grew up here. I do so appreciate all my colleagues and the staff here; many of whom have been my mentors and friends. I feel very blessed to practice where
I have access to such caring and wonderful professionals who are willing to help in a moment’s notice.”Currently, Dr. Eddy-Betrand is the Chair for the Department of Family Medicine at Northridge Hospital Medical Center.
Brandon Leon PA-C is a board-certified physician associate through the Physician Associate Board of California and the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). He completed his training at Saint Francis University, a nationally ranked physician associate program. He has had training in a wide variety of specialties including family practice, women’s health, pediatrics, surgery and emergency medicine.
He has always had a passion for helping others.
His career in medicine began in his undergraduate years at Cal Poly SLO where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology.
He volunteered at his local emergency room in Los Angeles
and went on to become an EMT, serving his local community for 5 years.
Brandon is always striving to incorporate new research-based procedures to expand the scope of care available to his patients. He has completed advanced training in
interarticular injections through the American Academy of Family Practice as well has platelet rich plasma(PRP) through the American Academy of Procedural Medicine.
Brandon has had the opportunity to work in the office extensively during his internship year and is passionate about serving the community that raised him. He prides himself in providing an individualized experience to deliver the best care possible to his patients and he looks forward to serving you!
Dr. Ritoo Gagneja graduated from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, M.S. Ramaiah Medical College, India in 2003 and earned her M.B.B.S. and M.D. degrees. She completed her residency at the Natividad Medical Center at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine.
Dr. Gagneja’s professional memberships include the American Academy of Family Physicians, American Medical Association, California Academy of Family Physicians, American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin and the Los Angeles Medical Society. She is currently Board Certified with the American Board of Family Medicine.

ULTRASOUND STUDIES
We offer Peripheral Vascular, Cardiac, and Carotid Screening Ultrasounds in addition to other diagnostic ultrasound studies. Please inquire with one of our Physicians to learn about the benefits of these tests.
DIABETIC EDUCATION
At Family Medicine Associates we offer Diabetic Education classes in group and one-on-one settings. Please ask the staff if your insurance qualifies you for our low cost classes.
THERAPY
Doreen, therapist, is available for consultation sessions for smoking cessation, weight loss, panic attacks and other concerns.
DURABLE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT
Many braces, splints and supports can be provided by our staff of physicians for conditions such as carpal tunnel, back and knee pain, and osteoarthritis.
ADVANCED DIAGNOSTICS
Echocardiography and vascular screening tests can be ordered and performed in our office to assess carotid, coronary or peripheral artery disease.
